Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of high school after her parents separated to go to Los Angeles to live with her mother. It was a struggle to get by and was offered her first part in the acting world as Rachel's Room's leading character. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the sixth season. The character she plays is Faith she is the muse and fan of the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Gyllenhaal is a member of her family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in the films of her father as an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in an Golden Globe Award nomination. The actress gained more attention after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of in the year 2006. She was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mother in Crazy Heart. In the following years she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. Other roles she has played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) as well as musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to The Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
